Your tree’s journey begins long before planting day. This Diwali, we begin with the essentials: sourcing indigenous seeds, preparing high-quality seedlings and nurturing them through their earliest stages. Your contribution supports that care from the very beginning.
A thriving tree starts with a carefully chosen seed. Our first activity is sourcing indigenous seeds suited to the region and preparing them for the nursery. Finding the right seeds takes care and effort—this is where your tree’s story begins.
From germination to a healthy seedling, the early months matter. We will prepare high-quality seedlings and give them attentive nursery care, with watering, protection and regular checks to help them survive and develop. Our programme goal is to nurture 1 lakh saplings towards the June planting season.
We are aiming to begin planting on 5 June, World Environment Day, around the arrival of the rainy season. Planting will be phased according to local rainfall, site conditions and sapling readiness, giving young trees a considered start.
With drought-like conditions and unpredictable weather in mind, we are prioritising drought-resistant trees suited to the selected site. Water planning, ongoing maintenance and monitoring will shape how we care for the plantation, including during difficult conditions.
Our commitment is to thoughtful preparation and responsive care, giving the trees the best opportunity to establish and grow.
You, your friends and your family are welcome to take part physically—from preparation and nursery activities to planting and ongoing care. Site visits and participation will be coordinated with the team as the programme takes shape.
